A single Atlantic blue crab laid flat on a cream ground, claws raised, every leg drawn out toward the edge and cast with a hard shadow that lifts it off the surface. The blues run from pale turquoise at the claw tips to slate on the shell. The Lowcountry's most familiar catch, treated like a specimen plate.
